Cinema For Peace International Green Film Award 2024 winner “Common Ground” with special screenings on Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day, Executive Producer Laura Dern and the creative team behind the acclaimed documentary "Common Ground" proudly present "Common Ground: Earth Day 2024," a nationwide screening event dedicated to promoting regenerative agriculture on Monday, April 22, 2024. Teaming up with industry leader AMC Theatres, along with event-based distributor Area 23a and other national exhibitors, the filmmakers are bringing "Common Ground: Earth Day 2024" to at least 75 screens across major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, Minneapolis, and more.

On this special occasion, theaters will showcase an exclusive cut of the film for a single day, spotlighting the message of regenerative farming practices. This special edition features never-before-seen footage and pre-recorded Q&A sessions with the filmmakers and cast.

Directed and produced by Joshua Tickell and Rebecca Harrell Tickell, and distributed by Area 23a (known for "Fantastic Fungi"), the award-winning "Common Ground" has amassed over 20 major film awards, including the Tribeca Film Festival Human Nature Award, Boston Film Festival Mass Eco Award & Best Eco Film, alongside the International Green Film Award at Cinema For Peace Gala 2024 in Berlin - an award created by Leonardo DiCaprio and Mikhail Gorvachev in 2009.

Narrated by a star-studded ensemble including Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Rosario Dawson, Ian Somerhalder, Woody Harrelson, and Donald Glover, the documentary seamlessly blends investigative journalism with firsthand testimonies from leaders in the food movement. It uncovers the complex web of money, power, and politics shaping our flawed food system, revealing the struggles faced by farmers from diverse backgrounds striving to sustain us.

Through the lens of "Common Ground," viewers gain insight into the journeys of white, black, and indigenous farmers embracing alternative "regenerative" agricultural methods. These approaches offer promising solutions to tackle climate challenges, enhance public health, and stabilize the economy, painting a hopeful vision for the future of farming and our planet.
